Tsawwass-Zen

Inspired by tranquility and Zen design, this garden retreat was created to showcase the owners’ extensive bonsai collection and provide a space to feel immersed by—and grounded in— nature. 

Considering functionality, we created walkways, access gates, and various sitting areas for different experiences within the space. Heights and grades were considered, so the inside flows seamlessly to the rear partially-covered viewing patio, meeting the ‘Zen’ style cedar decking/Bonsai platform.

An homage to Japanese elements of design, this playful, aesthetic, yet functional space offers the perfect way to relax and retreat within the footprint of their own home.
